Maintenance Engineer

 

Location:  Stockertown, PA.

$70K-$90K + Bonus

Summary:

Client is a major US cement manufacturer, looking for a Maintenance Engineer.  This position will be responsible for collaborating and participating in operations and maintenance jobs, developing and executing preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance activity programs, as well as providing technical support to the Maintenance and Operations Department in continuous improvement activities. 

 

Responsibilities:

Work closely with the plant Maintenance Manager and the Maintenance Department in developing and maintaining preventative and predictive maintenance plans for equipment that is required from their start-up and throughout their life cycle.

Suggest specific activities for inspection, lubrication, cleaning and changing of parts to the equipment, based on recommendations from the manufacturer, the supplier and other criteria.

Promote ongoing improvement in equipment and administrative procedures.

Analyze equipment Maintenance history, investigate repetitive failures in order to evaluate effectiveness of Preventive – Predictive Maintenance and Operating Procedures.

 

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

Experience in a manufacturing facility preferred; experience in heavy industry a plus

Strong interpersonal skills, self-starter and detail oriented

Strong organizational skills a must

Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Products

Strong computer skills, with experience with Oracle preferred

Must have the ability to work overtime, on-call and off-shifts as the job requires

Knowledge of inspection routes, oil analysis, vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasound to assess equipment health and plan corrective actions – Preventive Maintenance Umbrella.

Concrete Construction Manager

 

Location: open – no relocation required

 

Summary:

Client is a large national mine plant Construction Company engaged in the building of aggregate and industrial mineral plants.  Client is looking for an experienced heavy concrete construction project manager type.  This position will oversee the concrete construction aspects of assigned facilities generally falling in five categories; 1) Safety – operating under MSHA rules & regulations and interface with related State & Federal agencies, 2) Construction excellence, 3) Resource management – equipment and employees, 4) Customer satisfaction, and 5) Cost Control – to maximize profitability without compromise to safety and construction excellence.  Heavy travel required.

 

Responsibilities:

Serves as a key member of a project team in providing concrete construction support for the planning, scheduling, design, installation, bidding, and construction of systems/facilities.

Perform structural analysis of concrete foundations, piers, pilings and related steel support structures.

Reads specification sheets to insure that the concrete is mixed according to specifications.

Oversees the placement of forms, the installation of reinforcing structures, bracings, and shoring’s.

 May direct workers who spread, vibrate, screed and/or float concrete.

May collect samples of concrete mix for quality control purposes.

Interpret reports considering soil structure interaction, soil corrosion, bearing capacity, swell/settlement, expansive soil, earth pressures, frost heave, slope stability, underpinning, and other related foundation/shoring design factors.

Interface with customers, contractors, project managers, and engineering unit specialists on all technical, design, and planning aspects of assigned projects.

 

Requirements:

While no relocation is required, candidate will travel extensively (75%-80%) from project to project.  All travel expenses will be company paid/reimbursed.

10+ year’s applicable heavy industry concrete construction experience.

Related civil/structural degree optional but preferred.  This requirement can be waved based on solid industry concrete experience.

Computer literate with AutoCAD and RISA 3D foundation structural software or related.

Thorough knowledge of construction standards, codes, and applicable State/Federal guidelines.

A team player with a strong ability to work with, lead and coach others.

Operations Construction Manager

 

Location: Monahans, TX.

 

Coordinates milling production and maintenance priorities.  Assists to enhance the existing Total Safety Culture Program and Environmental guidelines to ensure employee safety and health. Assists with management of the departmental budget and controlling costs. Monitors plant performance, identifies/troubleshoots deficiencies or failures and makes recommendations for improvement. Supervise and direct the hourly work force in their daily activities. Coordinate Operations with the Maintenance Department on all equipment including manpower, supplies, and scheduling to ensure low operating cost and downtime. Communicate closely with the Quarry Mining Department to ensure cost effective operation of processes.  Maintain records to ensure effective scheduling of operations. Assist in purchasing and inventory of reagents and supplies and identification of problem areas. Assist in accurate preparation of budgets and forecasting resulting in proper cost control and business planning. Maintain a competent and effective supervisory and hourly force through effective personnel management and labor relations techniques. Promote better performance of subordinates through ongoing training and communication of ideas, techniques and policies. Ensure that all operational work practices comply with company, State and Federal Safety Standards and Environmental Standards. Interact with workforce and Human Resources, Safety Department, Purchasing, Accounting, etc., to ensure compliance with established company policies. Interact with Engineering Department and Mine Operations to ensure tailings impoundment availability

and integrity are maintained. The job requires training or instruction in the area of Environmental Awareness. This job training or instruction in the area of Safety & Health Awareness including completion of the appropriate MSHA training. 

 

BS Degree in Metallurgy/Mineral Processing preferred. 5-10 years (minimum) of prior supervisory experience in union environment preferred. 5-10 years (minimum) of prior sand operations experience preferred.

Mine Construction Engineer

 

Location: Odessa, TX area

 

Develop engineering projects utilizing new technology to constantly upgrade and improve safety efficiencies, cost controls and protection of the environment. Promote and initiate positive employee relations designed to facilitate teamwork and job satisfaction through participation. Participate with operating and maintenance departments in problems solving efforts. Assist operating and maintenance departments in the implementation of new technology. May be assigned to Long Range Planning, Short Range Planning, Surveying, or Technical Support. Help with MSHA interactions.  Project work including project development, budgeting, engineering, purchasing, construction, cost control, quality controls and implementation.

B.S. degree in Mining Engineering or related is required. Excellent analytical, management, organization, communication and problem-solving skills. Must demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines, work with minimum supervision, and have a working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs.

Production Supervisor and/or Foreman

 

Location: Odessa, TX area

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Supervises and coordinates the activities of workers engaged in the production of various frac sand products by wet or dry finishing processes.  Reviews laboratory test results to resolve problems affecting grade and purity of products.  Trains workers in the operation of the plant equipment.  Works as a team with maintenance/quality/safety personnel to insure the proper work environment and culture. Demonstrates a strong ability to train, lead, coach, and mentor employees.

Experience in mineral processing, maintenance, computer, communication and people skills are required.  An engineering degree or related is preferred.  Bilingual in Spanish and experience in a MSHA work site is a plus. The exact position (Supervisor or Foreman) ultimately offered will depend on experience (1+ years for the Foreman and 3+ years for the supervisor) and their education.
